does homeowners insurance cover water heater burst/damage/fl

Our water heater just went, don't know when it happened(maybe the last 48hrs). Basement is flooding. We have Liberty Mutual and we are not sure if this is covered on our policy, is this a standard coverage?

Yes, it is a standard coverage and should be covered, since most of the homeowners insurance policies cover water damage caused by failed household appliances.

However you'll need to read your particular policy to know whether or not this is covered by your insurer.
