Dear Sil, recently a young druken driver 19 years old hit our house and damaged garage structure etc. I filed the claim on the insuracne company which his mother has a policy with. His mother allows her son to drive her car.
So far, this insurance company has not pay me yet.
'The damage is so severe and very urgent need to be fixed. Becuase there is a second story on top of garage.
Can you give me some help and opinion on such a case ? Thanks. Jane

If you have some type of property policy I'd recommend that you file a claim with them and they can seek recovery after everything is taken care of.

tcope is correct. Your homeowner's policy will have much broader coverage than the drunk driver's auto insurance. Let them handle the claim and they will recover what they can from the at fault party.
