Car Insurance Re Quote(Or Scam)

Hello Friends,
I was quoted a very low quote by State Farm and later on I received a letter stating that the quote was a mistake and my rate is actually higher by $150. On calling they told me that was because the agent had accidentally given me a multi car discount. I think this might be a scam to get me to buy the insurance and then bet that I am lethargic enough to not go and change insurance.
I was wondering if you guys could let me know of some car insurance companies that are true to their customers and honor their claims. I was looking at this website LINK REMOVED BY Moderator MaxHerr per TOU and it lists State Farm on the top of the worst insurer list. I don't mind paying an extra premium for a company that is honest

You may get an independent agent to suggest you the names of few good companies.
Then research on the Internet about the credibility of the companies before you take your pick.

Look out for the customer complaints record against the company and whether the issues were resolved or not.

Check for the financial stability of the insurance company.

Also, it's wise to go for a company that has been around for more than 10 years, rather than buying a too good to believe policy from a new company in the market.

Let's see, the insurance company told you the agent made a mistake. They want you to pay more money. You are willing to pay more money to a company that is honest. What am I missing here? (Other than you were trying to promote another website. Too bad, link removed.)
