Some insurance abbreviations are universal and some are specific to each company. I've worked for several different companies and am not familiar with that abbreviation. What is the context where it is used?

maybe this is it - Direct Repair Program (DRP)

"The DRP includes independent auto repair shops and dealerships approved by insurance company. With the DRP option, there is no need for a claims representative to estimate the damages to your vehicle. One of our qualified repair facilities performs the estimates and vehicle repairs."

It could also stand for Doesn't Repair Properly if you are allowing an entity outside the contract of repair dictating how your vehicle should be repaired when they only elected the option to pay for the repair in money. Instead of taking full liability for the repair, hiring the contractor, specifying the parts and procedures which is an option under the contract of insurance, they elect instead to steer you to a shop that chooses to serve the criteria of the insurer instead of the criteria set forth by the manufacturer of your vehicle. The first option allows the insurer to keep more money that should be allocated to properly pay for repairs or full indemnification and places all the liability on an unwitting repair shop who is dependent upon the insurer for the referral.
