I am curious as to if an insurance company can add more charges to a subrogation claim after presenting you with an amount owed four years later?

your question is not clear. Did you subrogate? or u are the liable party. If the insurance is going to collect from you after a four year gap, most probably they'll add some charges as additional costs suffered by them.
