Stolen 2011 Dodge

I had my 2011 Dodge Charger stolen a couple of days ago and when I filed the claim with my insurance company, they said that they’d write me a check for $21000 as replacement cost which is totally unfair. The car is less than a year old, doesn’t even have a scratch on it and I have an absolutely a clean record. The cost of replacement would be at least $30000. I tried negotiating with them and they raised their offer to $23000 after which they wouldn’t budge by a cent. I even mailed them my fair value comparison sheet but they say that $23000 is their final offer. Help!

Check and re-check your comparison sheet. There might be some missing information. If you bought it last year, the insurance company will deduct depreciation from the current market value of the car before paying you the replacement cost. Check its retail value against a used car value of the same condition, make and model. Do not forget to include or exclude the optional stuff (like power windows, power steering, Bluetooth, etc.) when you are evaluating the car. Keep communicating with your insurance company while you are at it and maybe you guys can reach an agreement over the price.
