I wont say that it's impossible to buy a life insurance policy for a healthy 88 yr. old woman. However, the chances are less, since most insurance providers won't be willing to take up the risk. Even if some of the insurers do, the rates for the policies are going to be high.

Most insurance companies will stop issuing policies at age 85. If anyone here knows of carriers that will offer coverage past that age, I'd love to get more details.
