my 2002 honda accord was broadsided by a vehicle, that failed to stop at the stop sign at an intersection,at the time of the accident i had insurance but now i dont,i was taken to the hospital, and have bills for the visit,2 weeks have passed, just got the police report, with a feww witness statements. my insurance wanted to charge me triple the deductable because i only had it for less than a month at the time,so my question is are the folks that hit me still responsible for fixing my car?

Why not?

This is ABSOLUTELY NOT POSSIBLE! No contract of auto insurance issued anywhere in the United States permits this.
my question is are the folks that hit me still responsible for fixing my car?
Yes, they are the only ones "responsible" for your damages..
And to those of you who own "smart phones" and use them to post on blogs such as this . . . please learn to follow the rules of grammar you were taught in elementary school: Capitalize the first word of a sentence (and all "proper" nouns), use proper punctuation (such as a period at the end of a sentence, apostrophes to indicate conjoined words), and use a spellchecker. Your "smart phone" is not that smart on its own.
