Your father's homeowner insurance coverage will not pay you for anything like you mentioned. I have the impression that you are wanting to sue the homeowner's insurance company for your father's death.

The only way you could go after the insurer is if the insurance company was negligent in your father's death. The house burning down has nothing to do with the insurer being liable, unless they burned down the house.

The liability coverage attached to the policy was there to protect your father in case someone sued HIM for his personal negligence (as opposed to his business liability exposures). This protects him and the others insureds residing in the household for liability claims and lawsuits filed against those considered an insured under the policy. This has nothing to do with your father's death, again- unless the insurer caused his death due to their negligence.

I'm sorry about your father's passing, but the insurance company has no liability for this loss other than to pay for the damage to the home if the fire was covered by the policy.
