Usually persons with felony convictions are not provided with the agent license, especially those with theft, fraud or deceit. However, the state laws and the type of felony committed is also taken into consideration. Also, how long ago were you convicted ?

This may be entirely irrelevant.

Under the federal Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act, certain felony convictions render a person ineligible for employment in the financial services industry without a waiver from the state official in charge of licensing. There is no statute of limitations on when the conviction occurred, other than convictions prior to age 18 are generally overlooked, unless a person was tried and convicted as an adult.
