I share joint custody of my children with their aunt. Their great grandmother died and named them as beneficiaries to life insurance and pension death benefits. Will their aunt be able to collect on those policies with those court papersstating that she has joint custody?

While you may have "joint custody", who serves as legal guardian? Why do you share custody with the children's aunt?
Whoever is considered the children's legal guardian will probably be given the responsibility of managing the money for the benefit of the children. That person may not use the money for their own personal needs.
You need to speak with a Family Law attorney about the best way to deal with your situation.
