If you term employment can your company make you pay the whole premium for that month and is that legal?

In most cases- yes. Most group plans will continue coverage on a terminated employee until the last day of the month that employment terminated. For example, if you were to be terminated today, coverage would likely continue until June 30... the last day of the month.

If in fact that's the case with your employer's plan, since they are covering you until the end of the month, the insurer is entitled to the premium for that period of time.
