Help with total loss valuation

Hi all, I am very new to this. I need help with trying to find some addition sources to value my car. I was hit by a vehicle and my car is now totaled. I had a 2009 Toyota Camry SE with about $57,000 miles, navigation system, sunroof, JBL sound system, remote starter, V6, great condition. I had LoJack installed on it, no prior damage. Can someone help me find a a truer value of my car? I do not trust the estimate of my adjuster and I know I need to show proof that my vehicle is worth more. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

You can enter details about your vehicle's precollision condition at the NADA website to obtain the information you are asking about.

Thanks, I've done that but was told that do not go by retail.

Correct. Retail is the high price, Wholesale is the low price. You should start the negotiations by demanding the NADA retail value on the basis that it is what YOU would have to pay for a replacement vehicle, and you ARE ENTITLED TO be compensated with ACTUAL CASH VALUE. However, ACV is replacement cost less depreciation, so you are unlikely to get the full retail value.

If your vehicle was "less depreciated" than an average vehicle with the same features and similar mileage, you can argue in favor of a higher settlement, but should expect that your settlement amount will fall somewhere in between retail and wholesale values.

Your goal is simply to maximize in the direction of retail. Being cooperative (aka: not argumentative, but willing to compromise) and standing firm in the amount you want will help.
