Hello
I hit an animal about a week and I did not file a claim since I did not know it will affect my rate. But now I know that I know its part of comprehensive and it should not be affected I want to file a claim. Can they deny me since I waited a week? There is still a little bid of blood on the car. My insurance company is Geico.
Regards!

I doubt they will. Reporting it a week after it happen will be suspect but I see no grounds for anything close to a denial.

You only need to be concerned if (a) the animal you hit was livestock such as a cow or sheep, (b) certain wild game such as a deer, and elk, or a bear, or (c) a gecko who speaks Australian English (this one would certainly cause your rate to increase -- to cover the cost of recruiting, hiring, and training a replacement).
In some states, dogs struck by a vehicle require notification of the animal's owner by the driver. Cats are so utterly worthless that you can plow through a herd of them and never have to notify anyone.
