Hello Kimani here , I recently got my general lines 2-20 license. I am still doing my research as to which angle i will take to start my insurance career but i would definitely like to start as independent agent but so far i see that it is harder to get appointed in the p&c business the most other insurance lines. My first question is would it be easier to do business with the whole sale companies like Insurance noodle & agent secure just to name a couple? My second question is if it is easier to get appointed with them then what would be the pros and cons of dealing with wholesalers? Your response is greatly appreciated.

In P&C, you're better off starting with an established large agency, where you will be mentored/trained, and can begin building a book of business you may be able to take with you if you leave.

It's almost impossible to start as an independent producer in P&C.
