Get A Friend To Buy Referral

Does anyone know of a company that offers a discount on your auto insurance if you get a friend to buy a policy? DISH TV and ATT are advertising similar promotions, so I was wondering why this wouldn't work for auto insurance. You wouldn't have to go through an agent.

Unlawful business practice in all states. Satellite TV is regulated by the FCC which does not regulate prices. Auto insurance is regulated by the state, and only certain forms of "rebating" are allowed. This is not one of them.

Has anyone heard of Imingle Insurance Company? They work this way.

There is no such insurance company as this anywhere in the United States. And even if there were such a company, no state allows such premium discounts for referrals.

See [link removed per TOU]. They take away the discount if you don't get a friend to by a policy, or if you have a friend that cancels. Seems funny to lose your discount because of something someone else did that you couldn't control.

Thanks sport for letting us know about such unfair business policies by iMingle.

And it also says this:

This information is a general description of discounts and is not a statement of contract. Discounts may vary by state.

I don't know of any state that allows such a discount. CA does not.

And, again iMingle is not an insurance company. It is a trade name of Kemper Direct auto insurance.

Seems funny to lose your discount because of something someone else did that you couldn't control.

That's why it's not a legitimate discount. There are other caveats such as a "Safe Driver Pledge".

1. I will follow all laws and traffic safety rules.

I will obey speed limits, traffic signs and signals. My passengers and I will
wear our seatbelts at all times. I will not drive under the influence of alcohol
or drugs, and will not ride in a vehicle driven by someone who is under the
influence.

2. I will drive safely and responsibly.

I will drive defensively, and will not race, speed, tailgate or cut others off in
traffic. I will remain alert while driving, and will not drive when I am angry,
over tired, or in a physical or emotional condition that can impair my driving. I
will be aware of conditions that can affect driving such as weather or lower
visibility at night.

3. I will not allow myself to be distracted while driving.

I will use my mobile phone safely, and will not text while driving. I will not
smoke, eat, apply makeup, or perform other actions that take my attention
away from the road. I will make sure that the car stereo volume allows me to
hear sounds outside of the car, and will not wear earphones while driving.

4. I will maintain my vehicle in a safe condition.

I will make sure that my brakes and lights work, that my tires are properly
inflated, and that all of the vehicle’s vital systems are functioning properly.

5. I will encourage members of my [link removed] Network to do
these things, too.

Big brother may be watching you. Slip up on one of these and POOF!
