Insuring 2 houses at one address

I have 2 homes on one property - one address - in Ohio. Each property has its own electric meter, separate heat, etc. but they are both at the same address - too much trouble to survey and split the acreage with all the county requirements. My son and his wife want to move into the other home. How can we get personal property insurance, liability, etc on that other home for coverage? It is simply listed as an additional dwelling structure on our current homeowners.

You speak to an agent or an insurance company about this. That is how it's done.

tcope is right! You say that you are already having an HO policy where this structure is just listed as an additional dwelling. So you must be having an advisor/agent. He is the best guy to advise you since he knows the ground realities, your expectations and what you can afford very well.

Many people have separate garage and kennels within their plots. How do they insure those? Talk to the agent.
