My car was totaled in early march. My insurance company is ready to pay the lienholder their amount but the lienholder has refused to provide the letter of guarantee as well as title. The insurance company spoke to somebody in their office on 7 different occasions since the accident to which they were told the fax will be there later in that afternoon. No documents received yet. Why would the lienholder wait so long to send the proper documents? I'm thinking the title is not right. Please provide me with some answers. I appreciate it. Oh, yes I will have to pay a minimum amount once the insurance company pays their portion. Am I wrong for not making my payments, also?

I can't read minds... so I can't tell you why they would not be sending the information when they said they would.
Legally you are wrong for not making payments. You could be racking up late fees. However, your lien holder could also be held accountable for not sending the paperwork that they said they would send in order to obtain the payoff on the vehicle. My suggestion... call them every day about this for a couple of days. Then call then twice a day every day. At some point it will be easier for them to follow through with sending out the info them field calls from you.
