inurance company refuses to honor policy

We purchased auto and motorcycle insurance over 3 years ago, and had an accident. We moved to another province and told the broker that to we will be moving around a lot, and left them an address where they could always reach us. The policy was paid in full, but after we moved, they claim they tried to reach us to let us know that we owed about 85.00 due to an error. They had the address we gave them where we could always be reached and they never tried us there, so apparantely the mail was returned back to them. When we called about the accident , they were very rude and told us they cancelled the policy because we did not pay the 85.00 we didn't know about. We had a hummer and Harley insured with all the bells and whistles and paid in full, so there was no reason would not pay another 85.00 when we just dished out thtousands of dollars. Everytime we called, they had a new excuse, but interestingly, they Harley was still insured. We have been in contact with them and always given the runaround, and I believe it is so that the statute of limitations passes. We weren't aware that the statute of limitations was only two years and are now stuck because we trusted them that this would be settled and are now out of luck. Is there anything we can do about this?

So for 2 years you never went any further then speaking to them on the phone?

You may want to speak to an attorney esp. if the contract was signed in Canada.

I think it'd be best if you consulted an attorney regarding this issue.
