Auto Insurance with Geico?

My son is about to get his license so I figured this was a good time to review my insurance coverage and I've been pricing out different companies. So far I've looked at:

State Farm
Allstate
Nationwide
Progressive
USAA
Geico
MetLife

and quite possibly a few others that I don't recall. I've found that Geico is the cheapest by ~$300/year.

Anyone have experiences with them? Will they be a hassle to deal with if I need to deal with them? I've had to deal with State Farm twice and they were great both times.

Why is that GEICO always charges me around 50% higher than others?

GEICO doesn't charge you anything unless you are one of their insureds. Why is your GEICO quote higher than other insurers? That's a question you need to ask them.

Each case is different. As a GEICO insured, I can say the same thing about other insurance companies.

I think my GEICO premiums are too high, but I have not found any other companies with lower premiums than what I currently have. So I have no real complaint.

I am sorry but it simply doesn't figure out..are we here to promote services of Geico..!

Why don't you suggest me some ways to lower my auto insurance costs? I have a clean driving record throughout and my deductible too is good. So, what is it that's lacking here in my policy? Can you help me to find out that?

I have no idea what you mean by that. You mentioned your experience, and others have a different experience. You might love the food at McDonald's, but I will pass on it unless there is nothing else available. Doesn't make me right and you wrong, nor does it make you right and everyone else wrong. It's just an opinion.

Be happy to. But without knowing more about your situation and needs, there is nothing other than generic advice such as increase your deductibles from $500 to $1000. There are a number of other factors that translate into an insurance premium.

What is your age, what type of vehicle do you drive, how many miles do you drive one way to work, do you use your vehicle for business purposes, what coverages/deductibles are you carrying, and, importantly, where do you live?

This site does not "promote" GEICO or State Farm, Farmers, Allstate, or any other insurance company. But you mentioned an experience with a specific company, and others, like myself, who are insured with that company, have shared our experiences which seem to be different than yours.

No insurance company is going to have the lowest cost of insurance for every person in America, just like Walmart doesn't always have the lowest price on every item they sell.

Insurance is a "buyer's market" -- insurance companies throw out a price and if you like it, you buy it. But it's also a personal business, too, and finding a local agent to work with can save you both time, money, and aggravation.

GEICO is mostly a direct marketing company, which allows them to issue coverage at lower rates because they are not paying commissions to agents. You have to find them, they don't really go looking for you except through their advertising.

I'm sure this isn't any promotional platform and we are not here to promote Geico and its services. Again, perhaps Geico isn't the best auto insurance company out there. But what I saw most of the people here have said good things about Geico.

And as long as it's me, I've found them siginificantly cheaper than any other provider as well. :)
