Judgement Pending

We both were trying to make a yellow when I {uninsured} struck the insured vehicle. The insured clearly stated to the police offer she failed to yield before she turned in front of me. I spoke with her insurance company and told them what she stated to the police office which is in fact in the police report. Her insurance company has filed a judgment against me. My car was totaled and taken to the city pound. I was unable to retrieve my car from the pound due to lake money. No one was injured. What can I do at this point to avoid paying this judgment if it is at all possible to avoid? Please advise thank you.

You can draft an appeal and pay a few hundred dollars to file an appeal. It's _highly_ doubtful you'd win without paying an attorney a few thousand to assist.

Now do you see why people pay for insurance? Not such a bad deal, huh.

No joke. That is your option. When you don't pay a premium to have an insurance company defend you, you end up defending yourself. You allowed the other insurance company to obtain a judgement against you (I'm guessing you did nothing or next to nothing to fight it) so now it's a matter of legal fact.
