Progressive ins co did not send me the notification of cancellation but sent it to my mom who was not the insured, by e-mail. After the cancellation date , it mailed a letterto me , but with an insufficient address. I never got the letter.
Though I paid within 1 day of the cancellation date, this made no difference to the co.

Thanks for sharing. You did not ask a question.

tcope is right, you did not ask a question. But I will.

How did Progressive have your mother's email address and not yours? And why didn't Progressive have your proper address?

Progressive (or any other insurer) does not pick and choose how it communicates and to whom. It uses the information an insured and/or policyowner provides. Garbage in -- garbage out.

Sounds to me like the cancellation notice was immaterial. You seemed to have known when your coverage was expiring on your own. Methinks you were involved in a collision and are trying to make Progressive out to be the bad guy, when the reality is you were irresponsible when it came to paying your premium.
