I have come to know of certain terms as 'Acts of God' or say 'acts of Nature' while talking abt insurance. But truly speaking, I dint get the association of such terms with something like insurance ! Could anyone explain over here?

Hi!
I'm sure that these terms signify some of the fatal events which make insurance inevitable for the human lives ! Whenever we talk of calamities like hurricanes eg. Rita or Katrina in the recent times or say earthquakes or floods, we simply can't think beyond insurance. Yes, its true that most of the insurers won't cover any such illustrated or exaggerated act of God but some policies like the homeowner's or property coverage actually cover the aftermath. Thats how we can explain it perhaps !

Does this property insurance form a part of the flood insurance if I opt for a flood coverage? I need to know this soon.

Hi,
Property coverage on someone's home extends wrapping from a fire insurance policy to any All Risk policy which might protect all losses except those which have been mentioned to be excluded. Flood insurance is not a part of the home owner's policy !
So, you need to buy a separate insurance for flooding.

It only matters if you pray to the wrong god.

If you buy the insurance and lightning doesn't strike the underwriter, then try another god.

(yes....I stole that from Dilbert)
