While driving on the freeway, a tire (and rim) came off a camper and hit my car. There wasn't any real structural damage, just body damage. The owners of the camper had insurance, which sent me a check in the amount of the estimated damages. I dropped my car off at a collision shop associated with the local BMW dealership for repair. The repairs are subpar--paint doesn't match, overspray, paint dribbles, new scratches on the exterior and also spray on the interior. They have had my car for over a month. The body shop has tried to return the car to me a few times, but the problems were not addressed so I declined to take it. Since I went outside the insurance companies 'preferred' list, they have washed their hands of the claim. I have spoken to the service manager at BMW, but it seems that there isn't anything he can do other than talk to the body shop manager. Do I have any recourse at this time?

This is not an insurance related question.. it's a legal question. You can always file suit against the repair company for the damages.
