Hi, The two main parts constituting an auto policy are associated to the bodily injury and property damage liability.

The bodily liability coverage comes into effect whenever you as a driver has injured someone else.

But on the other hand if while you're driving you cause any damage to someone else's property then it would be treated as being a part of the property liability coverage. Hope, I've been able to clarify it to some extent! take care, fatman

hi yep, its true that bodily liability and property liability form the major two parts of an auto insurance but auto policy has other facets as well. The PIP and medical payments associated to it can form vital points to confront.
PIP is all meant to shelter the treatments of all those injured belonging to the policy-holder's car. regards, Sasha T.

Guyz, in my opinion the two main parts to an auto policy are the Collision and Comprehensive referring to the physical damages done to the policy holder's vehicle.
Whenever any damage is done to your car as an outcome of any crash then collision coverage will take care of it, otherwise when there is an accidental damage (which is not the result of any collision) as a result of any fire, flooding, falling objects or theft then the comprehensive coverage plays its part. Any questions ? Stigmaroma

Why are we forgetting the uninsured motorist coverage ? I believe its a vital segment of car insurance in today's world. Even though Liability insurance is mandatory, people are often spotted without this protection. These people might see their cars getting confiscated someday!

I haven't noticed anyone mention DCPD yet. Which leads me to wonder where the question is coming from and where the responses are coming from. Also, I think Gurlie_theron29 needs to be a little more specific if she is to have your concerns addressed.

huh! I'm sure the answers are going to the direction where the questions are set in..
good that someone dragged our attention towards DCPD (Direct Compensation-Property Damage). Under a DCPD claim we are capable of recovering the cost of a temporary rental vehicle under the Transportation Replacement coverage. We are also capable of recovering an amount for the personal contents that have been damaged in the vehicle (less any deductibles). All this are subject to an extent upto which we are not at fault.
Your company is bound to contribute towards 25% of your loss if you are 25% not at fault!
Hope I've been able to explain it correctly!
