Is your grand father going to buy long term or short term disability insurance ? Is Your grand father still work ? If yes then go with disability insurance otherwise go for life. Life insurance is cheaper then disability insurance.

This is tough... if your grandfather is in the United States, he should probably go on medicare. If he isnt, then it would depend. If he is still working and his employer provides insurance, then I would by far keep that and do as cyrus says and get a life policy. Disability is ok... but health is the most crucial. Disability and life are great, but neither are going to help your grandfather if he is hospitalized. On the other hand, given the circumstances of his age, you could also consider getting a critical illness policy on him. That way if something major happens, he is still covered and the cost is only a fraction of health. Still ray, Health IS BY FAR his best option. Nothing else will help him if he gets sick or hurt. The last thing he wants to do at his age is incurr a steep medical bill due to lack of an insurance policy.

Thanks Cyrus and RandyDarby for your kind information.
I will suggest my Grand father to have a critical illness policy.
Thanks a lot - Ray :)
