sequel - wrong to ignore friend who's selling insurance?

hi everyone, thanks for the responses to my previous post on the subject above. great advice!

So my friend actually called a couple of days ago again, from a 'withheld' number. So I actually picked it up at the second ring, totally guileless.

Unlike what i expected, she was quite upfront about it. she said 'hi, I'm XX. remember me?'
I said "yup, how are you?"
she: you know I'm in the financial advisory line right?
I: yup...
she: well, would you like to meet up so I can discuss with you on this?
It was good that she was upfront (instead of just saying why don't we meet for lunch to catch up, and then start selling me stuff during our so-called catch up lunch). So I was able to be similarly upfront and tell her i didn't need anything. she said she was with an indept firm, so she could offer me products from more than one firm, i said it was ok, I had all the advice i needed, and already had someone to go to.
she said it's ok we can still meet up then you can compare the advice you get*me faints*. Well, seriously i could think of better ways of spending my lunch hour.
so anyway, i firmly but politely declined all her forays into my lunch hour and that was that. i did tell her that I"d keep her in mind if i felt like i needed more advice/ second opinion. so this was how it ended. hooray.
Greeeaaaattt! U did it gerl. At least for now, she/he is out of sight. But dont be too happy yet, probably if she/he is such a persistent chap, ur phone will start to ring again in 3 to 6 months time..heeh heee. Insurance agent or financial adviser are kind of persistent person. If there is no other way to avoid, just meet them one time, and dont buy or promise to buy next time, and they stop haggling you. Good luck!

your superfluous posts are getting a little out of hand here. Posting excessively in response to your own posts only to gain the points necessary to trigger payment should be prohibited, in my opinion. It's quite apparent you are merely posting in order to abuse the generosity of the site owners. :-(
