Hi, I was in an accident and the women who crashed took full responsability now i want to get my car fix but i rather get a check from her insurane company to take it to the body shop i want. not the one want they reffered to me. Is my right to do ask for a check instead of them pying directly to the shop? if I m showing'em estimates done in my car?

thanks!

You can have your vehicle repaired where ever you want. Basically (I'll be brief), if the insurance company gives you their own appraisal, you can take that appraisal to any repair shop and they will repair the car for that amount. The carrier will pay more if it's needed but that really is only needed if their are additional repairs needed that the carrier did not include initially (this is common as the carrier won't "guess" at internally damaged parts... they will simply allow the shop to tear down the vehicle and then add the additional (known) damages.

I'm guessing the repair cost will be closer to $1800.

All right Yury,

First of all of course you can have your vehicle repaired where ever you want. You have already said that,

My idea is to get the most money possible , send preogressive the three top estimates ( over $2000) as I did with the previous accident, and get my car done at the cheaper 1600 body shop which is also a trustworthy friend of mine

so you know your

trustworthy friend

has agreed to repair this damage for the $1600.00.

I'm fighting for 2ks.... let see what they said... tomorrow ill have an answer from them.

when i told them, they said, ohh ok ill write you a check right now... funny... not even appraising it...

Wouldn't count my chickens Yury, sounds to me like all the adjuster has said is that they will issue payment to you. Also you should be very careful about demanding more than you are entitled to, clearly anything above $1600.00 is 'gravy', take it, be happy with it, and check the greed.

im not demanding, im just asking for the price to repair my car, which i did not chose to crash. also, I'm using real estimates of my car. nothing fake or false.

also my friend, wont do, and my car wont be the same if i do it in a top body shop after all.

"gravy" is the amount of money each person pays to multimillionairs insurance company each second of our lives.

fairness is the lady will think twice to make a U turn next time and save the life of others innocent drivers.

im not demanding,

'demand' is just the term in this industry for your 'requested amount' or the ''amount you are requesting in payment". Sometimes I forget and use verbage, or nomenclature without realizing the person I'm talking with doesn't understand it's meaning in the context I'm using it, for THAT, I apologize.

im just asking for the price to repair my car

Which YOU said was; $1600.00 and you also said;

My idea is to get the most money possible , send preogressive the three top estimates ( over $2000) as I did with the previous accident, and get my car done at the cheaper 1600 body shop which is also a trustworthy friend of mine

What does this sentence mean?

also my friend, wont do, and my car wont be the same if i do it in a top body shop after all.

If your TRUE motive is to have the best possible repairs done to your vehicle, why wouldn't you utilize one of their network shops, thus receiving not one, but two WRITTEN WARRANTIES for the repair?

And this is the definition of ''gravy'', as I used it in my post, "windfall, gravy, godsend -- (a sudden unexpected piece of good fortune), left over, additionally received, more than expected''.

pays to multimillionairs insurance company each second of our lives.

every second huh?

fairness is the lady will think twice to make a U turn next time and save the life of others innocent drivers.

Yes, I'm sure she will, but what does that have to do with you having your vehicle repaired? Or anything else you have in this post? Absolutely nothing came up about teaching her a lesson, until this last post. Clever.
Also funny you should chose to use the word 'fairness'. hmmmmm

Well, I can't stand it any longer!

Yury- the purpose, at least in my view, of insurance is to make you whole-not make you come out smelling like a rose.

I also can't understand why they did not total your car. You said it was 10 years old, and was worth 4k?

When my youngest son was involved in a wreck years ago, they totaled our car because the repair was worth more than the car, it was about 6years old.

Trying to get the most out of insurance companies will end up costing you and others more in the long run-more claims, higher claims.

What I am trying to say here is this: I have an ex-friend who does this with any type of insurance. If they have an accident, she works at it and tries to come out ahead of the game. With health insurance, she has had every known test known to man, and then some. Also found a Doctor who did eyelid surgery, and said it was so she could see better- got a face lift free. The point is, when everyone files claims and tries to come out better, etc. the rates will go up/and or- make it harder to get insurance.

We also got sued for my other son hitting someones hubcap for $300,000. He wasn't happy with repairing his car, he wanted the most he could get. In the end, his insurance cancelled him, and the lawsuit was thrown out of court...Karen

Well BRAVO Karen !!! Thought I was the 'lone ranger' there for awhile. We can always count on you !!!

When I handle claims like this, or people talk so blatantly about well, stealing let's call it what it is, stealing. I always wish the Good Lord would just let me catch a glipse of that same persons face when it comes back on them. They will some day barely 'bump' someone, do $200 worth of damage, the other party will demand, $1000.00 in physical damage, then get an attorney and claim a horrible injury to boot! And scream about the unfairness of it all and what a crook that person is, all the while it was ok when they admitted doing the same thing atleast twice (in Yury's case) !!! Ah, sweet Carma !!!

Apparently Yury, doesn't care too much about Carma, or the fact that what he is doing, is exactly why we are all paying so much in premiums.

And quite frankly he doesn't appear to be the sharpest tool in the shed either, clearly it shouldn't take a PHD to read between these lines, that I wrote early on in the post

Well Yury you're in luck because I happen to know A LOT about the company that is paying for your repair

8)    Used his own FULL name too....
