Went there, pretty lengthy post on how to shave it down with some good suggestions in it, do you really think it could shave the premium down 75% though, that is a really big shavings.

I guess I am a little skeptical because I carry probably more than I have to. My husband and I are good drivers with clean records so our premiums are not that high compared to others that I hear complaining about higher premiums.

I don't have the time to read the blog right now but will later, this sounds like a pretty high percentage to me too....but can't comment further till I read it......

I wish it were true, LOL, I could be wrong, but If I am in this case, I sure want to be corrected, LOL.

Never know good, hee, hee! I am with you two on this one, I would say that 75% is one heck of a break in any situation, I don't think it is possible, even for the best driver.

That's a good site you've got there, I'm always trying to figure out ways to reduce payments of any kind. I'm a trove of useless information, but then again, if someone tried to find it out, it's not useless to them.

Honesty is the best policy, that's all I know.

It is a good site, I just don't see how you could possibly save that much, would be great. I like where the site is going, especially the list on what to do after an accident, put in plain english and easy to understand. Hopefully you will keep adding to it, you have a really good start, keep up the good work and keep us abreast on when you add things please.

The link is not working so I cannot read the ways to shave insurance costs. I have full coverage througfh a local carrier where I live. But my son ,God love him" Has the worst price I have ever seen for insurance. He started out as a young driver and got tickets,Maybe one accident. But they should all have fallen off except for maybe 1 now since he is almost 22.He has learned the hard way. I sure wish I could find a cheaper rate for him as he can only afford the payment on his truck and the insurance and is living at home.

Hi hummingbird, welcome to the forums. :) You need to copy paste that URL in your browser to be able to read it.

Thanks,

Teen boys have higher rates than anyone (as new drivers), and rightfully so, they cause the most damage! Then add a couple of tickets and an accident and threw the roof it goes! Then buy a car that you have a loan on (and so doing MUST carry collision and comp coverage) and you're to the sky now! IF he keeps his license/record clean when he turns 25 there will be a very large deduction in his premium (at least in my area that is the age the rate drops dramatically)....You could check his deductibles that is one way to lower his premium....other than that, and shopping around for cheaper rates...(becareful to not sacrifice coverage though ie lower limits)....that's about all he can do at this point...other than of course selling the vehicle paying cash for a 'beater' and having only liablity coverage on it till he is in a better rate class...but convincing a young man to driver a beater is a difficult task at best!

Yes, He had an older model car before. Then he bought his double cab truck and a mortgage from the bank. Now his credit is shot becasue of credit cards so he would not be able to get another loan for an auto. I will check the deductable on his insurance and see where he stands on that. he has 3 years to go before 25 and I don't know if he can make it with his insurance rate that long.Guess I could pray for a miracle.
