No way to know without seeing the car...Take it to a body shop that you trust and have them write an estimate, may be no additional damage, could also have damaged, the absorber, and rebar, even the rear body panel...most covers are urethan and made to pop in and back out again in a collision, some times not leaving any 'outward' signs of impact, but plenty under neath....have it checked out!

Right, its difficult to know without inspecting the car.....
It may so happen that apparently there were no damages but upon proper investigation find some important one, which requires mending. Therefore, do what Lori has suggested and take the car to a body shop for certainty.

Sounds like a low impact accident but, yea, get it examined by an expert mechanic.

I had a friend that this happened too, she took the other persons insurance information and phone number, she was parked in the drug store parking lot and I asked her what happened to the back of her car. I myself seen that the back bumper was not even, where she did not. so I would say to do what these guys have recommended, you may not be able to tell what, if any damage has been done. I would not wait for a long time either, insurance companies have time frames on reporting accidents don't they? If you wait too long you may have to pay the damage yourself. those damages add up quickly when you get the labor costs of repair involved.
goodluck and please come back and update this thread.

I would take it to a body shop if it were my vehicle, there is so much junk under those bumpers these days, hard to tell what damage is done from the outside of the vehicle.
