A part-time worker can enroll himself/herself for the disability benefits through the Social Security Disability program. The eligibility criteria include – the wage earned, the service preformed, along with the hours and days worked per week. If you satisfy these criteria, you may then be entitled to receive the disability benefits. However, if you're earning over the substantial level, your claim is likely to get denied.

Part time workers may find themselves receiving lesser benefits than their full-time colleagues. Most of the employers offer health and disability insurance to their fulltime employees through group health plans, which at-times excludes the part-time service providers. But depending upon the nature of the job and your employer you may receive the coverage through your employer.
