You know, you only need to click the button once. Also, mind telling me with VIC stands for? I suck at acronyms.

I got the other four posts Quenlin, thanks, and yes OP only once... I think the OP fat fingered the key board and meant VIN....However I'm not clear on the question....what is it you're asking? Alot of people purchase repaired totals so, not really sure...understand however even if a vehicle is repaired and cleared it will still show 'prior salvage' and worth much less...should you suffer another total.

hi tusharagg87,

Its true that the yahoo groups are coming up well these days...but have you checked the most powerful community with the keywords "insurance forums" in Google? I feel the groups are yet to reach the top!
Thanks anyways..

Do show prior salvage . Back when I first started selling automobiles once the title was ( cleaned up as we called it) and a new title was issued it did not show previous salvage. This was not good for the consumer since mileage was often times roll back, there was no ability then for an auto history check to find out such info so many times consumers were purchasing salvaged vehicles without ever knowing it.

Again, you are correct some insurance companies will not write a policy for a previous salvage, and when you do get a policy you can expect to not get the value if it was totaled again as one that had not previously been in a serious accident or flood.

However, you should also have paid much less for it on the front end to at the time of purchase. You can get some good buys in previous salvage vehicles but I would not recommend this for the average car buyer. Their is always electrical problems with these especially those that were salvaged due to flood damage. This can get very expensive to repair because it is often times hard for the technician to track down the source of the problem.

So really "Buyer Beware" is the best advice I can give anyone who is considering purchasing anything with a previous salvage title.
