home owners insurance

Anyone know much about home owners? Last night my husband was plowing the driveway with his tractor when he hit a pretty bad icy patch causing the tractor to slide sideways and hit into the side of my brothers truck. It left a really good dent in it and now I am wondering if my homeowners cover it. Does the full deductible apply? I have a $500 dollar deductible and I am wondering if it would be cheaper to pay it myself (the truck is an older one) or turn it in. I know some policies has an act of nature clause but don't know if that would apply here. Any info would be helpful. Thank You

Guess no deductible applies on a liability claim. The only thing that sticks is that it raises your insurance even if you had no other claims in the past years. I am now offsetting the incresed cost of my insurance by raising my deductible. Another good reson for insurance cause had I not had it I would have been paying $1900 out of my pocket. these little things sure add up quickly.

guess it is a good thing that you had it all in place the way you did, it is hard to come up with $1900 to fix anything these days. How much will it raise your deductible? Home owners is one of those things that you pay and pay and never really use anyway, so at least you got to use it.

It is gonna raise my insurance $60-80 a year. That really sucks. The adjuster released the check to him which left me wondering about all this insurance crap. He decided to fix it himself and not pay the garage to do it. That is all fine and dandy but I found out the bedside was only $500 and some odd dollars to replace and paint couldn't have been too much for that small part. Leaves me wondering how they came up with $1900. Now he is buying doors and custom paint, all kinds of stuff. All for that $1900. The only reason it upsets me is if I would have only had to pay for the bedside and paint that one area my insurance wouldn't have jumped that much higher. I hate being taken advantage of.
