In a claim they have to be able to access your medical records to settle up. Once you sign a waiver it will take them at least a month to send out for all your medical records. If you went to more than one place for treatment this adds to the time because they need ALL the records. Sometimes the doctors themselves can hold you up. They receive the notice and it could lay on there desks for some time before they get to it. I have seen times when the insurance company has to keep calling them to get them to send in what they need. The time limit all depends on these and probaly other circumstances. believ me ben there...done that...and STILL waiting...

Yeah, they all have a long slow process that is for sure, it seems to take forever when they could simply copy the records and send them, I bet they would move a little faster if their payment depended on them getting the records out to the insurance company, you may want to call the doctors office and tell them, the sooner they get them out to the insurance company, the sooner they get paid. good luck, hope this works out for you soon.

claims do take a while to settle out, it has been this way historically. You could try to call yourself as good stated to try and get the ball rolling.

The doctors office isn't usually awaiting payment. They are paid as they go. The records the atty is waiting on is your medical records because it will show how much treatment you had, give a good idea of your pain and suffering say from medication prescribed and the amount of pain you report to them.I find you can't usually make them move any faster than they want especially since they more than likely already got their payment for services. Your atty could probaly push it along a little quicker with a few "urgent" phone calls depending on how anxious they are to get paid. It is very hard when you are hurt and lose employment to set back and wait but this is what you are expected to do.Sorry but that is just the way it is.

Unfortunately you are right on this one fireyone, the doctors office has no real motivation to move on this if they have already been paid for their services. May be a friendly phone call or a visit may encourage them to move a little faster.

Sometimes they do make you pay for a document fee. Wonder if that would have anything to do with it? Anyway if it were me and the office was in drivable distance I would meander on down and offer to wait while the gathered the records.
