Okay... lets start with what happen and who's insurance is denying the claim (your brothers or the other parties). I'm guessing someone else caused the damage and their insurance company is stating that the damage is so minor they won't issue payment. If this is correct, they should consider an "appearance allowance". That is, they _do_ owe something if damage occured but replacing the entire light would place your brother in a much better situation then he was prior to the accident.

I must have missed another post or something (based on tcope talking about a brother ...). However, maybe the insurance company suggested not claiming because the damage was less than the deductible?

I'm thinking it was below the deductible also. But..one thing..." 2 months before I bought a bike..." Before he bought it? He does mean after?

how much does fixing the headlight cost? would it be worth it to even go through insurance? it seems fixing it by yourself would save you money and the hassle.

Depending on the vehicle and the type of h/lamp could be anywhere from 70 bucks to 1200.00 or more for a headlamp...

I think Tcope got a post in the wrong thread...if another party caused the damage and could be proven then they owe the cost of the repair or replacement...most likely as mentioned prior it was a collision or comp loss and the damage was less than the deductible..."IF" there is anything to this OP's post to begin with.

The above post din't make any sense to me, either. "...before he bought it,,," If it was just a headlight, i don't think I would put a claim in. However........was it broken from a result from an accident? This isn't very clear to me. Can you explain?
