I had my car towed today. the policy number I have is XXXX(policy number removed by mod) 1. Does it cover towing? If yes, how do I get reimbursed?

Well, to tell you the truth, for most insurance policies towing would be regarded as an add-on. You won't need to bear the towing charges if you've got the additional coverage. Do you have that in place?

You'd need to go through your policy papers and check if it says anything regarding the towing charges-
Policies would cover for the towing charges segregated upon the kind of vehicle that you have - coverage levels for towing charges of motorcycles may vary from that of your car. Towing charges may be covered from the accident spot till the body shop.

If you have road side assistance coverage your policy will cover the tow up to the limit you purchased. If your vehicle was towed due to an accident (either comp or collision) and you have the corresponding coverage then the tow will be considered part of the loss (comp/coll)...
