I live in PA and one of my vehicles was hit while parked on our street. The driver of the other vehicle left the scene. The police gave us the name & address of the registered owener. We contacted our insurance company who in turn got in touch with the registered owner's insurance and a claim was made. We only had liablity insurance so our insurance company can not fix our damages. The other insurance company has been trying for weeks (6) to get in touch with their insurer. When they finally got in touch with her she claims she was away on vacation and when she came home her vehicle was gone and she reported it stolen. Where does this leave us? I feel we are getting the run around with her insurance company because they claim they can't get in touch with their insurer and she' not returning phone calls or answering any of their letters.

I thought you said they did talk to her and she was on vacation? She will need to PROVE she was out of town..Where does this leave us?
Maybe out of luck, but you can always sue her in small claims court, get a judgement, then her carrier will HAVE to pay you..Sounds to me like you might get a default judgement as she's liable to not show up!Add your comment
