Hi,

I currently work with my dad in a bodyshop. We were interested in opening our own bodyshop and fix insurance damaged cars, in example someone had an accident and their insurance took the car in for repair, so we would be the ones that would fix it. It's an idea for future, but I was wondering where should I look for information about insurance wrecked vehicles, who should I call or where basically I look info for this kind of business. Thank you for taking your time to reply to my post.

I think what you are asking about is becoming a direct repair shop for some carriers (?) All carriers have their own set of critera needed to become a DRP. You could check their websites for applications. I will tell you that most require 'x' amount of square feet, certain equipment, and tech certifications, as well as 'x' amount of insurance. As I said they are all different. So you will need to check each one. No question you would already have to be established to pursue this.
