will insurance company cover damges to wood floor and carpet

my son who is 12 years old was frying food on stove when fire catch on it so he tried to put water on it which makes it worse he took pan and ran to out side but he drops it on floor and fire ate wood floor and some carpet in livving room. he ran outside to get me as i was gardening . first thing i did were going upstairs and get other 2 kids from thier room , by the time all kids out i was afraid to deal with fire by my self so called 911. i have standard insurance policy . am i covered? thanks

Yes it sounds as if you will be fine. I imagine they have had a thing like this happen before. Reminds me of my own son. He added water to a grease fire but luckily I was in the next room and there was a fire estiguisher handy. I am sure he got a good scaring and a valuable lesson. Hope everything works out fine..I am sure it will.
