If I recall correctly a 220 is an agents license? I know less about the 440.... is that a life license?
Are you in Florida?
Call your state Dept of Insurance and they can tell you what is required to obtain a 220 license and the cost.

When I was in Florida (over 10 years ago) a 220 license was comparable to a General Lines - Property & Casualty license.
A 440 license would be comparable to a Customer Service Representative or as we used to call it in Texas, a Solicitor's license.
It has been several years since I was in Florida, but I do recall you had to have so many hours in the insurance industry to get a 440 license.
Instead of guessing, I think it's best if I point you in the right direction. Florida's Department of Insurance is now under the Florida Department of Financial Services. This link should point you in the right direction to getting accurate information on obtaining your license there.
