I have 21st century insurance company and I just wanted to say they are a bad company to have insurance with I had an 86 yr old man hit my car head on in December and i didn't have rental and had a limited right to sue but i changed it to unlimited right to sue and had rental put on i had another accident may 2 a guy pulled out of a parking lot turning left and i hit him in my lane of traffic and my insurance company tells me i have no rental coverage so i have to pay for it i wouldn't recommend 21st century insurance company to anyone if you have them lose them before u need to use their coverage

Um, if you really had them put rental on before your second accident then you have rental coverage. Who told you that you don't have the coverage? Who did you tell to add the coverage. Just because an adjuster was wrong about an optional coverage doesn't make it a bad company.

Furthermore, you seem to have described a not-at-fault accident, is it possible that you were told that your company will not pay for the rental car because it's the other driver's insurance company's responsiblity?

Also, what is the limited/ unlimited right to sue business you're talking about?

First of all, I personally don't agree with that statement. 21st Century is now part of the American International Group (AIG), which is in the top ten of insurers in the country, maybe the world. They now go by "AIGDirect".
Did you purchase the auto insurance online, yourself? If so, did you try to add the rental coverage online?

This is one reason why I advise everyone I meet to not buy any type of insurance online. There is just no need for that, with hundreds of thousands of insurance agents all across the country. Had you gone into your agent's office and added the rental endorsement you would have been provided a copy of the endorsement and then there would have been no question as to whether you have it or don't have it.

and had a limited right to sue but i changed it to unlimited right to sue

I, like Fishman, have no idea what this means.

AIG is an excellent company, just buy your insurance from an agent, then you will have some one to talk to.

In some states you can waive PIP coverage or not. This also determines if you can collect from an at-fault party for your injuries.

OP, you simply state that they told you that you did not have rental coverage but you don't mention any details. Surely you pointed out that you added the coverage.

OP what on earth is the beef? Rental is that all? Depending on who you added the coverage with many of these conversations are recorded (all in my company and I can't tell you how much that thrills the socks off of me!)...seriously dude how does this make them them a

bad company

? It should be fairly easy to prove if you had it or not...did you not notice you weren't being charged for it? Or you don't look at your bill? What?

Whenever I make changes to anything might it be personal or professional I make a notation on a bill or other about changes that have been made. Do you have the specifics of when you called and who you spoke to? Have you then checked your bill to see if your policy was updated? As far as 21st being a "bad company," is this the only issue you've had with them and where does the fault reallly lie?

I asked this person if he/she tried to make the endorsement online themselves, but never received a response.

AIG Direct allows policyholders to service their own policies, which I personally think is a mistake, but that's the way it is.

If the endorsement didn't process properly, then the insured has no proof that one was requested.

If the person called an agent, then there should be a record of it.

Sometime we just want to take complete control of our own insurance programs, but reserve the right to blame someone else if something goes wrong.

Go figure.
(sorry, but I'm on my second cup of coffee.)

All my cars are insured with 21st/AIG. Even though I, personally, have never had an auto accident (knock on wood), I have 3 teenage daughters who have had 5 accidents between them. Just as promised, the company has covered each one.
