We have purchased a jaguar oflate. We had called on a local agent and all he wants us to get is a policy for Exotic cars. He says it could be a bit costlier than the usual kinds. What does that mean?

You must have exceptional driving skills to be able to control such engines. So, it will ultimately be on your carrier to decide if they're gonna charge you more.

He likely means that it will cost more to insure your Jag than a more pedistrain vehicle like a Ford Taurus. Make sense?

Check(link removed by mod-lori) they are good with car insurance claims and it’s likely you’ll get a better deal.

Exotic Car Insurance? there really IS such a thing?! Never heard of it (but, of course, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist..LOL).

I am not familiar with an “Exotic Auto Insurance Policy” and can’t think of what it would cover that an typical personal auto policy would not, other than if he wants you to insure the vehicle on a stated value or replacement cost instead of actual cash value. Actual cash value is defined as Cost New less Depreciation. Stated Value would allow you to state an amount initially for what you want the vehicle insured for. Replacement cost would cover the amount it takes to replace the vehicle. I would ask the agent what specifically does an “Exotic Auto Policy” cover that a typical auto policy wouldn’t.
