I'm looking for more information on service-disabled veterans insurance. I've left service the week before.

Did you apply with VA? If you've been disabled due to your service, you might even be entitled to Life insurance coverage worth $10,000.

If you're totally disabled you may go for the "waiver of premiums" option. If you're eligible, you'll get $20,000 worth of additional policy. But you should also keep in mind that the premiums aren't waived off in this additional policy.

SDVI policies would offer the 'waiver of premiums' with no additional cost if the insured has total disability for 6 months or more. Again, such disability has to start prior to his 65 years of age.
