Weather insurance protects you from the loss caused by adverse weather (Wind, Lightning, Rain, Snow, Temperature etc.).

Say for example, you could not reach the destination on the day of your stage performance due to heavy rain. This coverage will compensate for the financial losses caused by your inability to reach there.

Weather insurance is purchased by many business owners to reduce the impact of adverse weather on their day to day business operations. In this case it acts as a type of business interruption insurance.

Weather insurance is generally purchased by the Event organizers irrespective of indoor or outdoor events. The insurance is purchased in view to provide the financial protection against the loss of revenues caused by the ‘Bad' weather conditions (Wind, Snow, and Rain) that may negatively create an impact on the audience. It is a highly affordable way to assure that the expected revenues will not be reduced by the unfavorable weather conditions.

It is not required to prove the amount of loss to the insurer as the policy is based on the ‘agreed amount' of the coverage. It is recommended that you should purchase 100% insurance coverage for your expected revenues.

I'd like to mention some important things about weather insurance claims over here-

You'd need to get a fair evaluation of all the damages. Prepare a list of your damaged items and the value of each item. You may certainly get some photos associated with your damages. Places adjacent to the damaged place would get a fair view to your insurance carrier.

Please don't forget to produce the proof of your property ownership at the time of filing your claim. You could easily prove that by showing any deed or mortgage payment statement.

Hi,

So you have picked up an old thread again! :)

I guess the weather insurance agent would be the best person to guide the policy holder in this respect. The policy holder should get in touch with the agent while filing for the claim. The filing process could be critical at times and the agent is a professional who is expected to have practical knowledge of such cases.

Hi all,

I'd rather ensure that I continue repairing parts of my home that have more chances of getting damaged. Suppose you have a damaged roof from where water is leaking in - please repair it and make sure that the water is not entering anymore. I'm sure you'd be repaid for all the costs associated upon submission of your claim.
Thanks, Roddick
