My license is suspended until next year and my current carrier is dropping me because of that. I need to continue coverage somehow to avoid fines from the finance company and/or DMV. Is there any way to do this?

Yes thats correct you can get coverage on the car but not you as the primary driver. But you can get insurance on the car.

I do not have anyone else here with an interest in the vehicle to insure it under

I have lost my license for an indefinite amount of time and just got a notice of cancellation from my insurance company. I am still paying for my car loan. Does anyone know what the laws in MA are? Do I have to have car insurance in order to be in good terms with my finance company?

This has nothing to do with insurance laws. You either need to read your contract with the lien holder and/or speak to your lien holder about this issue.
