Usually Final Expense policies are simple issue, meaning they don't have the medical exams and visits to the home because the value is so low $5000-25000. And I have seen a few companies that will underwrite a higher risk for a lower amount because they don't typically qualify for standard issue due to health issues. If I have a client that wants a higher life insurance policy and they can qualify, then I'm going to sell that to them (no brainer), but most have health issues, and don't qualify or would pass the med exam.

Final Expense insurance is just a small, whole life policy and has a definite place in the market.

Lincoln Heritage has an exellent product and rating.

As An Agent, let me shed some light on this for you. Final expense companies generally do not sell policies over 25k and with very little underwriting. Meaning no blood or urine test. Just a very liberal medical questionnaire and a telephone interview. Most other companies require the above plus a blood and urine test and even your medical records. As far as companies, they are not all good. And they all ask about the same questions just in different manners. As far as the least expensive final expense company on the market it is Oxford Life out of Arizona. I'm not trying to sell or endorse anything but they are by far the least expensive and very easy to deal with. If you find it cheaper there is probably something wrong with it. Like AARP and those other companies that send applications through the mail. Their rates go up every 5 years and they drop you at 80y/o and it does not build any cash value. To get a good policy you MUST meet with a licensed agent in most state. No way around it. And remember you get what you pay for! If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is! As far a s whole life verses term. Let me explain, whole life covers your whole life just like the name says and it also builds a cash value and sometimes pays dividends if it is a mutual company. The cash value gives you a lot of benefits in your later years of life if you need them. Also it can never be canceled as long as you make the payments. Term on the other hand is exactly as the name states, for a certain term. This is a good product if you only need coverage to cover say a mortgage or college or when you know you are going to die! The downside is that it does not build a cash value and at the end of the term you have nothing to show for it. If you want to continue coverage it will have to be underwritten again and will be based on your current age rather than when originally applied for. Thats if you even qualify as peoples health changes with age. I hope this has been some help to those looking or trying to decide what and where to buy Life insurance.

:D :D Final expense is very good as well as tax free. The more homes I go into the more elderly people i find without insurance or perhaps not enough. The older we get the more expensive insurance becomes. Shockingly more and more seniors have a mortgage and in a lot of cases a pretty hefty mortgage. Final expense in most all cases is a point of sale product that has very few health questions and is a simplified issue. Most people think a nurse has to draw your blood in order for a policy to be issued. More times than not this is not the for the average American to go. I am licensed in over 10 states I do this every day. You may contact me at policy1.com@gmail.com
