If you get on big enough I'm betting you could catch a LOT of people! Perhaps a nice slice of pie in the middle. Then when they walk up to the pie, pull on the net and they are all yours!
Sorry it's late....

 Really tcope, you are awesome
Well, IMO managing a website can really help in getting businesses. In fact it can be said that online marketing holds the future of marketing.
The national Do Not Call list is growing in size day by day as more and more people are enlisting themselves in it to avoid promotional calls from the agencies. Hence, you are not getting enough opportunities to call your clients to discuss business.
The similar thing is happening with mailing the prospects as well. People are enthusiastically enrolling themselves in the do-not mail list, and thus drying up your source of business.
At this juncture the option left is internet. Consumers are relying upon the search engines like-Google and Yahoo to find insurance policies. This is also giving them the option to shop around without wasting time in visiting agents' offices. Hence, a professionally managed website can generate required business for the agents.
Thanks,
Rupert

Hi, internet can become a very potential tool for insurance marketing when used to its fullest.
Online advertisement is an effective yet cheap method to bring your business to prominence. You can place your advertisement in the local newspaper or TV channels websites.
Online yellow pages and guides are also good options to publish advertisements.

yes, definately a website. I recently attended a sales seminar and there was a survey done on what percentage of people buy from local agents and what percentage buy from the internet.
1 year ago it was 70% local agent 30% internet. The survey was just conducted again at the end of July and it is now 55% local agent 45% internet.
In just 1 year there was jump that high.

I'd not quite agree with you over here Juanita!
See, more we move into the future, more the process gets older & so its obvious that more names would get added to the DNC list. But, when you see the ratio of the population that gets added to the income groups you'll be amazed to see how this ratio somehow remains consistent over the years. Just as more & more people become high school grads, their incomes would rise & they start buying newer things. Just think of that teenager student who obtains his first pocket money as a lump sum & enrolls for his first credit card. Could you imagine how many of them would join the buyers' market each year!

Hi all,
I see internet-based lead generation as something pretty cool!
I say this since a lot more areas could be covered effortlessly (thus marketing your products across wider networks)..since the customers would visualize what they are buying & pick their choices proactively.

Hey guys..I believe Evan is quite right in saying that...see, through tele-marketing it becomes quite difficult to match the right economic segments with you promotions. This happens when the product-line don't jell well with the economic phases. But if you're going for internet sales...you have a broader scope of highlighting your product-line.
Surely, you could depict the benefits through visual-effects & a much better presentation. It is easier for people of different economic segments to choose after getting the proper taste of it!

Besides Google, what else do you suggest for advertising?

I have found that one of the best invesments I have made lately was in learning something new. it did not cost me a penny but did take an invesment of time.
I took advantage of the free blog from ampminsure to learn how to do a blog and Insurance Maze's insurance blogging blog to learn some really good SEO tecniques.(started in may)
Last month (august) I replicated what I had learned from that to do some state specific lead generating blogs for the states I am licensed in and have started to get a decent stream of prospects that way.
Talk about good ROI, i dont have any money tied up in this and it is starting to work much better than any traditional advertising I have attempted. Just takes some time to learn.
PS: I am a former computer idiot, I bought my first computer 3 years ago as of november...
