So I have recently heard of the bad news for everyone involved in Shenandoah life insurance company. So for the agents, my question is what is next?
Well I want you to know that there are a lot of options out there for you. You are going to have a lot of people promising you everything to get you to work with them. Before you make a decision to go work with another company who may or may not offer the same type of things you were used to at Shenandoah life consider my option. I have spoken to several agents that are being affected by their main carrier going out of biz. And it is a real tough situation for these agents. All of there renewals, there books of business...GONE. Here is my proposal. I have recently acquired a contract special for Shenandoah life agents so that the agents can get back on there feet. And what we were able to come up with was that for any new agent that gets started with us, we are going to be giving them a 115% contract with a full 12 month advance. and we are working with another agency on this that is actually going to be giving ALL of our agents regardless of if they worked with Shenandoah or not, free weekly leads, (as long as the agents produces 4 apps a month. So this is a win win for everyone. You will have a new A rated company to work with and you will get an un heard of contract along with free weekly leads.
Now I am not sure what will happen to the policy holders. But I do know that most people will want you to contact them and will need the coverage that they will most likely be losing. If you are interested in making 115% commission with a 12 month advance please email me at top money makers at live dot com we have the ability to get you an agent number within about 2 days. What we offer is Final Expense with the ability to take applications over the phone, if that is what you like or you can also do it face to face. we also have contracts for med sup and life and annuities. we are a full service IMO. But right now we are offering the 115% to Final Expense agents. email top money makers at live. com

Just a good lesson in not having all of your eggs in one basket. One of my contracts was with Shenandoah life, but I also have other carriers like Unity, NGL, Settlers, UofA, Assurity and others. I write a variety of different life and health policies so that if one company or type of policy (like medicare advantage this year) run in to some sort of difficulty, I always have many other options for sales.
Its having your exposure to risk spread out so that no one thing can have too much negative effect on my business. (this is also the reason I left the captive side.)
So what carriers are you talking about in your offer?

well we have many contracts as well. we also work with NGL. and we were doing the med advantage, as you know.. that kinda took the back seat. we sell it if we can but dont waste our time going after it any more. lotta money there though if you do it right. It sounds like you have some agents under you is that right?
well if you have an agency and you bring your people with you, we would be able to work something out for you. I dont want to mention the company that I am talking about here on the forum. but if you are really interested please email me. I hope you dont take that the wrong way. how many agents do you have? what state are you in?

When an insurance company goes belly-up its the consumers who are worst affected. The agents can and should find another company to do business with, but the consumers are left in a state of uncertainty about the future of their policies.
What you seasoned agents would suggest to your clients in such situations?

dtrmind, little too secretive. Sent you an email, thanks for the response and no info on your company or carriers you offer, no website, no telephone number. Really, who are you and why no transparency??

I dont really want to advertise the company that was able to get me this contract just because I am trying to grow my agency, as are we all. mso If I tell you the name of the company on here, then everyone goes to that carrier and tries to work out the same deal. go to our website...123 f g dot com, we are in the process of making changes on the site, not sure if all the carriers are listed... If you are seriously interested, email me again and I will forward you my contact number. but I want you to know that I am here to help agents make more money, thats why we are giving people these huge contracts. so hopefully that makes sense. And I am sure you can understand why I dont want to re3veal certain info out on the net. especially in this very competitive industry. thanks.

Is this how you recruit agents? LOL. Let me guess you don't have money to spend on finding agents right?

dtrmind, Thanks for the follow-up on the board & email. I understand your concerns and point of view. Just too many firms offer the moon to hook agents and there isn't any fuel in the rocket. Currently weighing some others and will be contacting you shortly. Appreciate the clarification. All the best.
