I agree with you carinsuranceguy, our requirements keep changing with time and therefore our need for coverage. The decision to buy life policy should be driven not only by age but by the necessities.
Whole life policies with the cash back option sounds great for young lives. This would create saving for their future upon which they can count on. Term life policies would be absolutely “out of consideration”. However, some seasoned life agent may can help you with suggestions. Lets wait to hear from them.

Yep, FIREYONE....I'm still looking. Just trying to see what 'fits' me best. Thanks for the comment ( about the 'mom thing.') :) I do the best I can. Sometimes it's a struggle ( as EVERY mom would know) but, I wouldn't give it up for anything!! :) Thanks for the "no apologies" thing, LAKEMEN. I guess I do 'go off' the subject a bit. However.......sometimes there are SOOO many 'directions' you can go, with some of these posts.

I agree wiht you SD. Seems you anyone can start out on a sublect that can be sent in many directions. SD I bet if you made this a new question..the one about getting life insurance for your 15 year old son then alot of mambers may take notice and give you some great ideas. I haven't had to worry about life insurance for my daughter since it is supplied through my husbands work. I may ask my sister-in-law. She just went through all this with her daughter who was diagnosed at birth with cerebal palsy. Born to early. Your welcome on the mom remark.

I agree with Hadley.. These are great reasons to buy a term life insurance policy. However, everyone's situation is different and even if you've decided that it is time to buy a policy, there are many to choose from.

There is never a bad age at which to own life insurance. The younger you are when you purchase it, the cheaper it will be. Also, for most people their health deteriorates as they age, not improve. Thus, the younger you are, the more likely you are to get a better underwriting class, which again comes with a reduced premium.
Just make sure you speak with an independent agent who can assess your situation and give you options to meet your needs.

I agree with the above post. You can buy life insurance at any time you think you need it (except when you are above 75-80 with a life threatening disease, still then it might be available with an exorbitant price). It's always better to buy life insurance as early as possible to get cheap premium rates, and if it's permanent policy it can be as cheap as a term life insurance.

I don't think their is a specific age that one should get life insurance rather than when a need arises. When a child is born, there is a need, so age 0.

There is no particular age to buy a life insurance policy, you can opt for life insurance policy any time between the age of 18 or 16 (in some places) to 75 years. But it is suggestible to buy a life insurance policy at an early age of your life to secure you & your family.

As late joiners to medical insurance are penalized through higher premiums, it would be best get coverage while you're young. Starting age for penalties is 35 years old. When it comes to marriage, you and your spouse might want to set aside your individual life insurance plans and purchase a cheaper combined policy instead.
