My husband ans I signed a contract saying we would hire this roofing company if our insurance deemed that we need a new roof. I called our insurance agent and filled a claim, I called and set up appointment with adjuster, when adjuster called roofing salesman he said he couldn't make appointment. Now this is my question the roofer is coming to meet me today at lunch and he told me the contract we signed intitles him to the entire check insurance gave us. We don't even have a quote for the work from him. He says he doesn't need to give one since we signed contract. No work has been done at this time. Can we cancel contract?

I had a roofing company come out and inspect my roof. They said there was wind dmg. I signed there contract, which stated they would do any repairs authorized by the insurance company. The contract also said if the claim was turned down, the contract would be void and of no force or effect. Anyways, I gladly signed it seeing as it seemed like a win win situation. Well I'm very glad I had them there to back me up. The insurance company sent out a roofing consultant. My roofer warned me he was going to try to find a reason to deny the claim. Sure enough he did just that. This consultants report was so bogus it was sick. Thank god my roofer knew what he was doing. He had pictures, and documented all the damage (the damage the consultant conveniently left out of his report.) my roofer even helped me by having me meet a public adjuster, and had another roofing company (by partial opinion) come out and walk the roof. They got together, contacted my insurance company, and what ever they did it worked. I got a call 4 days later. It was AAA saying they were sending another adjuster out. My roofer meet with him and got my roof approved. Honestly, the insurance company is out to make money, not serve your best interests. Do you really think I cared how much the insurance company paid them? I was just happy they got me a new roof and it didn't cost me anything. I had no problem with signing the money over to them, they went out of their way to get me approved. The settlement was for 13,787.04 money they had well earned. I had another company give me a cash price for $9,600. The year before. I didnt have 10k to spend at that time. So yeah they made a good profit off the job, but for how hard they worked for me, they deserved it. Thank you phoenix home improvement. You have helped me more than you can imagine. Also, my rates did not go up at all. The claim was filed under catastrophy claims. Only thing I had to do was pay a deductible, which they helped me with also. So this is my thanks Rob you are the man.

The bottom line is do not have a roofer do all the work to help you out give you all the information you need and then back out of the contract. Give them a chance why do you have to be a greedy ass bitch for. " all it was very nice for you to come to my house let me know what I can do about my damages, meet with the adjusters take care of the supplemental things make 5 trips to my home at 4 dollars a gallon and now you can get lost so I can get runaway construction come in and do my roof like shit so I can save my self a little money. You should be hung out to dry if you feel its ok to jerk people around people got families to feed. What if someone did this to you. All come in today you got the job. " well thanks for doing all you could to help me out now get lost i am getting someone else.

the roofer promise 15 to 20 years warranty on my roof, this been around 6 months ago. So I with-hold the remaining balance of $300.00 until I receive my warranty. How can I go about getting my warranty for my roof?

We discovered a leak in our roof, I called one of the companies that advertise a free quote and help getting the insurance company to approve our claim. He came to the house that day. Put a tarp on the leaking area which I appreciated. I signed a release to let him talk to our insurance company. It took me over six weeks to get the insurance company to come out and that was after I had called them myself. Not sure if he contacted them first or not.
After the adjuster came out, before I even heard if the claim was approved. I asked the contractor for a quote because if the ins. did not approve this we would still have to have a roof. He said he did not give a quote because he would just work off the check. I do not want to just give him a check and the let him tell me I still owe money on the cost of replacing the roof. When I asked him for a quote, he starts with "well, you know I have already done work just getting the ins. company to come out there, etc. All I asked for was a quote and I do not believe this is too much to ask.
